Location: 604 E. 19th Street (DG Course Review)
Description: Mae Simmons Park Disc Golf Course is a heavily wooded course with hills and a creek running through it (which is surprising for Lubbock). Every basket is capped with beautiful and interesting metal artwork including the hole number (most of the work designed, created, and installed by Jeff Emrich). Mae Simmons could be described as a technical course, requiring precise shots and accurate putting to score low.
The baskets for Mae Simmons were purchased and donated by the Windriders Flying Disc Club (6), Dirt City (3), The Texas Tech Disc Golf Club (1) and the following individuals: Matt Ryan (2), Marcus Roberts (1), Rob Lee (1), Eric Kjelberg (1), Michael Conkling (1), Steve Teeters (1), and the Toucet Family (1).
The concrete tee pads were paid for with donations from Chris Lee, Rob Lee, Todd and several anonymous donors. A portion of the course is mowed by the city of Lubbock but volunteers do most of the maintenance.
